The Centro Cultural de Música was founded in 1942 as a non profit private organization with the idea of expanding musical communication in all its forms.
The Centro Cultural de Música has presented the most famous symphonic and philharmonic orchestras, chamber orchestras, ballets, vocal and instrumental ensembles, trios, quartets, soloists, choirs, thus meeting with almost all of musical expressions.

Symphonic Orchestras:

OTHER ACTIVITIES:
The Centro Cultural de Música has 2 other branches with 6 to 7 annual concerts each:

Punta del Este-Maldonado which was founded in 1993 and the LATU Auditorium concerts which were started in 1994 but have been discontinued in 2006 until further decision.

Since 2005 there is a new series of concerts at midday with free admission, where students from public and private schools are invited to attend –they are held at the Teatro Solís in its Foyer or Main Hall.

The Centro Cultural de Música has granted many scholarships to young and talented Uruguayan artists, to study abroad be it in Paris, Santander, Viena, Buenos Aires, etc.
Very concerned to share musical experiences, the Centro Cultural de Música invites many musicians and students to its activities.
To carry out all these activities, the Centro Cultural de Música counts with the annual fee paid by its associates and the support of both free and private enterprises.
